Government Admits Garages are Overcharging

In a recent government publication aimed at the MOT trade the results of a confidential survey of MOT Test stations wer announced. Buried amongst the usual sort of satisfaction ratings and information concerning the computerisation was a rather alarming statistic.

3% of car garages and 2% motorcycle garages admitted charging more than the permitted level. Very simply these garages are breaking the law and risk prosecution. The MOT price is a legal maximum and not a recommended price.

So do check the price of the MOT before agreeing to the test and please let us know if you discover any garage overcharging.
